  1. Madden NFL 07 overcomes its no-frills presentation by providing all of the play modes and rich football fundamentals that fans have come to expect.
  2. Playing Madden NFL 07 on the Nintendo DS is akin to coaching a high school chess club in a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers... it's a playable experience and your team's got heart, but you're going to have to work through a few broken limbs on your way to victory.
  3. Madden NFL 07 for the DS offers a ton of features, touch screen support and wireless play to make it a solid portable football experience. However the frustrating AI, learning curve when using the touch screen and blocky 3D graphics slows the game down.

Aside from the horrid kicking issues (that will have people returning their games, assuming it’s a faulty copy), the rest of the package is actually pretty strong. There are a ton of modes and options, lots of multiplayer, and the overall graphical and audio presentation has received a bit of a bump as well.
  5. Nintendo Gamer
    Unmatched interactivity. [Nov 2006, p.74]
  6. Nintendo Power
So, the question remains, is it worth it to upgrade from 06 to 07? If improved graphics and new rosters do it for you, the answer is yes. If not, you may want do better by waiting to see what 08 brings. [Oct. 2006, p.90]
  7. Official Nintendo Magazine UK
Playing Madden NFL 07 is like when crisp companies started doing foil-wrapped crisps. Although you're promised a new experience, it's pretty much the same thing, though it's still pretty good. [Oct 2006, p.90]
  8. Madden NFL 2007 is a solid annual update, but it lacks visual panache and touchscreen brilliance.
  9. The graphics won't win any awards but despite the small screens, the game still gives a decent sense of size and scope when you're playing. Players are blocky but the game uses bright colours and easy-to-navigate menus (the same of which can't be said about the home console versions).

Decent football game for the system. However, the kicking is very frustrating.

You will absolutely regret buying this game because you'll be bored out of your mind. I'm sure EA did the best job they could, but You will absolutely regret buying this game because you'll be bored out of your mind. I'm sure EA did the best job they could, but the system limitations lead to a very generic gameplay. The real culprit here is the cartrige because it can't hold very much. Also the DS can only produce descent graphics but I'm not saying that it's a bad system. If you're looking for a sports game you should look elsewhere. Full Review »
