A very good start of this franchise , very good idea to introduce circuit mode because it's awesome to custom one of your own and it could have been even better to have online capabality. Anyway , it's still a fantastic game

This game is must buy for all wii owners. The mini games are very fun and the dream events are great. It has a neat set of characters. I like that you can also play as a mii. The replay value is simply amazing and graphics are good for a wii game. Overall Awsome game

With a wealth of options and a large variety of mini-games, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Game is a great partnership for the former rivals.
Overall, it lacks the polish and simplicity to compete with so many other mini-game collections on the Wii, leaving the unlikely pairing of mascots as its biggest draw.

I could go on and on how Mario & Sonic misses the mark in nearly every respect, but there’s really no point.
This first entry in the Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games series has arguably aged the best out of all of the others, alongside the DS release. While the controls are at times wonky and the quality of the graphics is low, I cannot deny that Beijing 2008 is the most feature-complete out of the four. It has obvious gameplay with a straightforward progression, memorable dream events, and a Gallery, which is the single best feature in the entire game. Minigames, trivia, music collecting; these three concepts define the series, and they don't get any better outside of Beijing 2008's Gallery. They are so good in fact, that it's entirely possible to get lost in them with a group of friends, instead of playing the multiplayer events. And yet... nostalgia affects my assessment of Beijing 2008, I never owned a Wii; I always went to a friend's house to play it. Because of this, out of the main quadrennial entries in the series, I think I'm going to place Beijing 2008 second overall.

While the game's concept is decent enough, it suffers on execution. The control schemes for the events are often difficult and unresponsive, and explanations are frequently unhelpful. The mini-games are also not very enjoyable, and most take a long time to complete for practically no reward. The game is fun if you stick to a handful of events, but unlocking those events are often a slog.

Hah! It is hard to think of another game that is more boring than this one. Even when you are playing it, the game suggests between minigames that you should perhaps take a break and relax. While it does so for health reasons, I would gladly do it just because it is so plain stupid and frustrating.
