The fourth Micro Machines game does the franchise proud with a host of cars, some very inventive tracks and multiplayer gameplay more addictive than chocolate milk. [Nov 2006, p.80]
-
Fun, fun, fun - in multi-player anyway. The rest is passable. [Christmas 2006, p.101]

There is the sense that this is a series in need of a real change of direction; but for the time being, rejoice before one of the most entertaining multiplayer games on DS. [Dec 2006, p.42]

60If you weren't around for the old days Micro Machines, and you're desperate for something to race around on the DS, this is a solid, straightforward game that should keep you going, providing you can put up with its inherent foibles.
-
60You could do worse with silly, weapons based driving action, but it may not warrant purchase if Mario Kart DS already has a place on your shelf.
-
Small isn't always beautiful, unfortunately.
-
60One of those games that's much more enjoyable in small doses. A quick race while you're sitting on the bus or with your kid brother/sister in the doctor's waiting room is a great way to pass a bit of time. When played in longer stretches, though, many of the game's annoyances start to really grate on you.

57Chuggy framerates, mushy controls, laughable vehicle designs, and a scattered game progression and presentation spotlight admittedly solid and faithful gameplay and clever track designs.
-
57You’ve played this game before, but better.
-
53The sheer number of cars and tracks in Micro Machines V4 doesn't make up for the underlying frustration of the racing.
