  • Summary: Your crew is a team of racers that you recruit as you progress through the game. Before you go into a race, you’ll be able to pick wingmen from your crew that will drive with you in the race to help you complete your objectives. Each crew member has unique skills that you trigger in race to give you the winning edge over opponents and help you to make a quick escape when the cops arrive on the scene. Crew members improve as they get more race experience and you’ll have the choice to either develop each crew member over the course of the game or swap them out when hot new recruits come available. Your crew’s overall respect is constantly rated based on your race success. Maintaining a high level of respect on the street is essential to attracting the best recruits. [Electronic Arts] Collapse

  1. An enjoyable and stylish street racer that offers plenty of customization options and a few sweet gamebreaker features.
  2. 75
And in terms of arcade racers on the system, this is definitely one of the better ones. There's still plenty of room for improvement, but it at least brings the series back from the dregs after last year's awful "Most Wanted."
  3. A fun and fast-paced racer with plenty of customization options. For racing fans, this is an excellent buy; just don't expect the single player portion to last very long.
  4. 70
A giant leap ahead of "Most Wanted" and probably nudges "Underground 2" as the franchise's top title for the DS.
  5. So while Carbon won't necessarily offend your street racing senses, it's won't knock your socks off either. One thing's for sure - it beats the hell out of last year's Most Wanted DS title, but since that's not saying much at all, we say take another pass this time around.
  6. Need For Speed Carbon: Own The City lacks the spirit and energy we've come to expect from the series.
