With the dark levels, completely uninspired music, and enemies that are literally sleeping through this game, it would be a miracle for any child to stay awake long enough to finish it.

Taken as a whole, Over the Hedge: Hammy Goes Nuts is an average game with a unique premise. While it controls just fine, there’s too little excitement here to really recommend a purchase to anyone.
  3. It is nice that the game controls so easily so that parents don’t have to constantly be watching over their kids. Still, it’s a bit too short to really justify the purchase.
  4. Hammy is merely average, but is made worse in the light of other games that its key demographic will enjoy.
  5. An undiscerning child may have a bit of fun for awhile with Over the Hedge: Hammy Goes Nuts, and adults may even find the wacky, borderline creepy premise of the game slightly bemusing. But if you care about children (or your own sanity), you may want to skip this one and just get the DVD instead.
  6. Over the Hedge is a game that could have very well changed our perception of what to expect in these kids' movie tie-ins; however, after a promising start, it soon became apparent that we were still heading into an average and linear experience, and that's ultimately all that's on offer here.
