  1. Once the learning curve has been overcome, players will want to spend time with this game. And adding the tons of unlockables only increases the replay value.
  2. games(TM)
A cheerful snowboarding game which, once mastered, provides a great deal of wintry entertainment. [Mar 2006, p.114]
  3. Games Master UK
A fun and addictive snowboarding game let down by its simplicity. [Aug 2006, p.82]
  4. A few rough spots aside, the main problem with Atlus' snow-themed racing game is that the single-player content is exhausted so quickly.
  5. There are some issues with using the touch screen for in-game tricks and acceleration, but aside from that, it's a fairly average kart-like racing game.
  6. 62
Snowboard Kids just doesn't have any real arcade racing balance in its main focus. The weapon aspect is simply thrown in with very little strategy for the victim or the aggressor, simply boiling these weapons down to a basic button press when they're obtained.
  7. 60
It's a decent snowboard game in almost every sense... Maybe if EA licensed it, nurtured it, and turned it into a portable version of "SSX" we'd be onto something.
  8. Game Informer
I do really like the unique way the game uses the touch screen for special moves, but that doesn't make up for the general sense of mediocrity that pervades Snowboard Kids. [Jan 2006, p.157]
  9. If there had been a more expansive single-player mode, smoother animations, and a more variety of levels, Snowboard Kids DS could have been a force to be reckoned with.

Mediocre, dissapointing: Not winning any new fans, and alienating the original fans

A fun game. At first I found it a boring but I forced myself to play it, and after a while I found it really fun. Lots of unlockables but A fun game. At first I found it a boring but I forced myself to play it, and after a while I found it really fun. Lots of unlockables but would have been better with more courses and more tricks. Graphics are pretty cool, controls are perfect, music suits the game. I got used to the voices and the only one I found slightly annoying was Slash's voice but I got used to it. I'd like to see a new 1080 game for the DS. But until then, if you like snowboarding games, and want one on the DS, you can't go wrong with Snowboard Kids. Full Review »
