  1. A decidedly capable arcade-style flyer that’s a bit short on content, but big on tight gameplay and challenge. If you can find someone to play the multiplayer modes with, you’ll be better served by this title, but the singe-player campaign is well worth playing as well.
  2. Like most of Destineer's other games, this is a niche title for a specific group of people. If you're one of those people then it probably doesn't matter what I say about Spitfire Heroes!
  3. 55
It handles well enough, and the missions provide a hefty amount of challenge, but it's ultimately repetitive and short.
  4. Unless you like flight simulators, you may want to avoid this game. And even if you do, you may not want to pay the full price tag.
  5. Spitfire Heroes: Tales of the Royal Air Force starts in the right direction with tight play control, but suffers from a high difficultly factor and empty/plain environments.
  6. And the environments! Catastrophically dull. [July 2008, p.72]
  7. Spitfire Heroes does little to distinguish itself among a myriad of middling flight combat games on the DS.
  8. The idea itself is solid, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired.
  9. The developers might have had their hearts in the right place, but the DS platform is just not the right way to go for what they might have been trying to accomplish. Spitfire Heroes buys the farm on this sortie.
  10. Spitfire Heroes’ gameplay can be confusing and annoying all at once.
