  • Summary: [DSiWare; also known as "Starhip Patrol"] STARSHIP DEFENSE takes the tower defense genre into outer space. Defend your space fleet from wave after wave of enemy attacks by equipping a variety of weapons and using a combination of strategic skills and resource management. Attach weapons to your ships using the touch screen, making sure to place them for maximum effect when planning your defense. If you don't, the relentless nature of your enemies could overwhelm you. Increase your chances of success by using energy collected from defeated enemies to install new and more powerful weapons, destroying particular enemies to obtain weapon upgrades, and watching for rare power crystals that unlock advanced attacks, including a devastating black hole. And if you still find yourself in trouble, select an SOS card to call on a special kind of assistance. You'll have to defend your fleet across 30 intense sectors, some with specific challenges, while advancing your rank from lowly recruit all the way to fleet admiral. Are you up to the challenge? Starship Defense is the best tower defense game on DSiWare. It's cheap, it's got great visuals, and the concept is different enough to make the game standout in a crowded genre.
  4. One of the best Tower Defence games of the year, with fast-paced action and deep, addictive strategy.

Really fun game. I've loved it. At first it's simple enough that anyone can jump in and get the hang of it, but then it gets challenging enough that it's still fun for more advanced players. Expand
  2. If you're a fan of tower defence games, in my opinion this is the best of the bunch. The tower defence concept is a pretty basic concept, but this game does it as well as it can possibly be done. I believe there are about 30 levels in total, and once you're done you'll want to go back and perfect every one of them. The DSi/3DS is the perfect console for this game as it's great to play in bed, at work or on the go. Hopefully they'll make a sequel with more guns and more levels because there's only so many times you can keep playing the same levels and i don't feel ready to end my relationship with this game.
