55On first sight, The Turtles license seems to be promising. But the game isn't as amazing as it could be. The textures are boring to look at and the campaign can be completed within two hours.
-
There's no platforming, no puzzle solving, no backtracking, no nothing: you just work your way across the stage until it abruptly ends. [Dec 2009, p.89]
-
45A mere shadow of what a scrolling beat'em up should be. The TMNT logo isn't enough to justify such a poor game, who will particularly let down the ones who really loved the comics and the animated series dedicated to the four Ninja Turtles.
-
First generation cell-phone games had more interesting gameplay.
-
40The game is also easy, and you will have no problem rushing through the eight skimpy levels in a matter of hours. Add in the simplistic combat that becomes repetitious very quickly, level designs devoid of creativity and the fact that you can't level up or gain new moves and you have one disaster worth skipping.
-
30Do your childhood memories a favour by not playing this.
-
25The only real change-up in the whole game is when the Turtles get shiny cybernetic-looking gear when they travel into the future. It's literally wave after wave of enemies through eight stages that serve as mere backdrops. And that wasn't really what was worth remembering from the old days.
-
You just mash buttons and move on. Dire. [Jan 2010, p.74]
