  1. Poker fans will lap this up, and a few non-poker fans like myself will become converts simply due to the fact that the game explains things so clearly. As much as the laws of logic say that I shouldn't be saying this, World Championship Poker is a highly addictive game.
  2. Whether or not you enjoy the game's single-player modes, however, will depend on your ability to forgive the design flaws that make it nearly impossible to establish reads and tells against CPU opponents.
  3. If you really must have your poker in video game form, several online gambling sites offer free poker games for users to test out. These are both terrific and cheaper alternatives to this overpriced title.

WAYYYY better than expected. If you dig poker, this is a must buy. Expected a mediocre game at best . . . this one is a sleeper.

One of my favorite games on the DS. In multiplayer mode it's fantastic. Better than the real thing! A comprehensive tutorial mode makes it really easy to learn how to play even if you never played Poker before. A nice idea moving around from Casino to Casino in First Person view, it has some nice visuals and solid graphics. The sound can become a little tedious at times and once you've heard 'Read em n weep' for the umpteenth time you might be sliding the sound off altogether. That doesn't detract from the fact that WCP is an excellent game. Using the stylus is very natural once you understand the rythym of the game and there is plenty of longevity here as WCP has a big career mode. A great addition to any collection. Expand
