  1. A truly great platforming game.
  2. In a time when 2D platformers seem to be fading into gaming history, for fans of the SNES it's downright heartwarming to see a sequel that is true to the classic.
  3. Not only is Yoshi's Island DS huge, cute, innovative and beautifully presented, its layering of light platforming skills and hardcore item collection mean it's ideal for all abilities.
  4. It’s improved in every way but still retains all of the elements that made the original an instant classic.
  5. Much better than most other games on the DS. In particular it puts New Super Mario Bros to shame.
  6. Yoshi's Island DS is a terrific platformer that's every bit as fun and charming as its predecessor.

This game is a testament that a game doesn't have to become three dimensional to be successful. If you don't like this game within the first ten minutes of play, then maybe you are the real baby.
  8. Nintendo finally gets around to making up for Yoshi’s Touch and Go with this amazing follow up to Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island. Easily one of the best in the genre, Yoshi’s Island DS is a fun, colorful, and energetic platform game that every Nintendo DS owner should play.
  9. Yoshi's crayon-sketched world is a lot like the original game on the Super Nintendo, its bright and creative spirit alive and flourishing in this most successful sequel. [Dec. 2006, p.89]
  10. One of the best platformers on the DS. [Jan 2007, p.75]
  11. Twists, such as the ability to play with different attributes thanks to Baby Mario, Baby Princess Peach, Baby DK, and more add variety to an extremely fun adventure. Through 40-plus levels, vibrant graphics and lively environments make things feel fresh and unique.

+A decent storyline fit for the game
    +Great colors and effects
+Plays like the original Yoshi's Island
+Different babies give you different abilities thus giving you different ways to finish levels
+A lot of exploration added to the depth of the levels
+Greater challenge for those who want the challenge

-The dual screen sometimes makes the game annoying at times due to the fact that some jumps force Yoshi to move screen which can sometimes lead you elsewhere other than planned at times.
-Difficulty can become tedious at times especially near end game.

This game left fond memories of my childhood. It is one of those adorable games certainly suited for hardcore gamers. Everything is solidly made with a heart, it is the best remake of a classic game that is ported to a handheld which is rare. By far, the best DS game I've ever played. Full Review »
