Theres nothing that Bomberman Max 2 does wrong, its just that weve all seen it before so many times that its starting to get stale.
-
The single player quest is a tad tedious, but still entertaining. A good buy. [August 2002, p.91]
-
The single-player game sticks closely to the tried and true Bomberman action we have come to know while not relying too much on the involvement of the Pokémonesque charabom characters (that were introduced in the original versions last year) to create a surprisingly good handheld title.
-
76Fans of the Bomberman franchise will undoubtedly find a lot to like in Red Advance thanks to the addition of the battle mode, mini-games, and charabom-collecting elements.
-
75The action might be a little too slow-paced for some...and the unfair elements, like the hidden death spots, are a little too much to ignore.
-
Each version features a unique ending and varying objectives for the game's 100 areas. [Apr 2002, p.152]
-
73A fun adventure game with a decent collecting aspect and a few fun minigames. But compared with meatier strategy RPGs, like Pokémon or Robopon 2, it is difficult to imagine the game keeping anyone's interest over the long term.
-
70One of those games which stands inches away from greatness.
-
Just isn't a very enthralling game.
