From its simple gameplay, addictive replay structure and bright graphics right down to its choice of male or female characters, Columns Crown is a superb puzzle package that just about everyone can fall in love with.
The unique presentation is a crowning achievement for puzzle games. [Mar 2002, p.136]
It's enough to make you want to hold hands and sing Kum Bai Ya -- if you can put down your GBA long enough.
The GBA’s Achilles heel once again rears its ugly head, unless playing under bright light identifying the colour of the gems is a nightmare, as not only can you not determine the colour but the sprites are too small as well.
Although it's not as energetic or complex as many modern-day puzzle games, it doesn't really disappoint in any specific area either.
Even with all the new features, it's still the least compelling of the "classic" puzzle games. [Dec 2002, p.118]
