  • Summary: As part of the Counter-Terrorist Special Forces unit, you have all the necessary means for putting an end to the threat of terrorism. Your team comprises highly trained soldiers who can do anything from dressing in camouflage to initiating surgical strikes on the enemy. In both ground missions and air combat, you'll plunge into 12 levels that span jungles, cities, mountains, and deserts. You can equip your team with various state-of-the-art weapons, including assault rifles and rocket launchers. Multiplayer mode lets you team up with a friend to complete missions. Collapse

  1. The side scrolling title you've been waiting for. If you enjoyed "Metal Slug," this game is for you!
  2. I found little not to love about this game. It reminds me of why I got into gaming in the first place. It is short, to the point, and every ounce of it drips fun.

CT Special Forces introduces few new ideas, but offers an impressive collection of everything good in 2D action platformers.
  4. A good little mindless shooter title. I would recommend it for those long waits in line or long drives (in the passenger seat please) when a player does not want the difficulty of trying to figure out some puzzle or read any long dialogs.
  5. Like many other character-based shoot-'em-ups, the main problems with CT Special Forces are that it's repetitive and that it's over too quickly.
  6. It would have been nice to see a co-op mode or something similiar to single play (with enemies, besides your friend) but it can provide a few half-hours of fun.
  7. 60
For a game that looks a heck of a lot like SNK's Metal Slug, it doesn't retain the charm or fun of that series, and features a lot of clunky gameplay elements that, honestly, didn't need to be there in the first place.
