  1. With its choice multiplayer extras in tow, this has to be considered one of the best SP games of all time. [Jan 2005, p.86]
  2. Amazingly, Donkey Kong Country 2 manages to hit the bullseye, serving gamers with a refreshing take on the gameplay gamers couldn't get enough of, and even improving on the formula by adding new challenges, new characters and a pirate ship full of new abilities.
  3. Luckily, the level design is fantastic, making every repeat through a level bearable, as many sections are just fun. Who doesn't love getting launched out of a barrel into the sky to swing from post to post while grabbing bananas only to land in a mine cart which travels the worst kept track in existence? Everything flows beautifully.
  4. From the side scrolling gameplay to the unique level design to superb audio I really enjoyed Donkey Kong Country 2 as I never had the opportunity to play the original on the SNES, I'm glad I did now.
  5. The graphics, while suffering a slight sacrifice in the parallax shading, are nevertheless incredible for the GBA.

Like any of my other GBA reviews, it is really meant for the SNES version of this game, which is what I had and played. Don't get me wrong itLike any of my other GBA reviews, it is really meant for the SNES version of this game, which is what I had and played. Don't get me wrong it is the same game, I just want it known I played the SNES version. I loved the Donkey Kong Country series, some of the best 3D platforming around. My favorite game of the series is the second one, for some reason its world is the funnest to hammer out and get all the extra goodies. As a kid I just loved this game, couldn't put it down. Nintendo did a great job with music and creating worlds that felt alive. This game is also challenging and can be done co-op with another friend, which is one great feature. Full Review »
