  1. A vast improvement over the first game. The game is much sharper in the gameplay and in graphics, and is a much more enjoyable experience all around.
  2. It is easily one of the best Action RPGs on the Game Boy Advance and one of the best licensed titles available for the handheld console.
  3. A nice RPG for the GBA that even gamers who aren’t too familiar with the series will enjoy. If you’re already a fan, all the better.
  4. 80
A far better game than last year's offering.
  5. The graphics are bright and colorful, the gameplay is simple but addictive, and the quest is long and full of things to do.
  6. 80
A testament to just how thoroughly a game can be improved in its second coming.
  7. Webfoot actually improved just about everything in this sequel. They probably didn't have to but fans will be glad they did.
  8. The music may be the best feature of this game (And this is a pretty decent game.) The developers did a fantastic job of recreating the series compositions for the small speakers of the GBA.
  9. You can expect 20-25 hours of gameplay from Legacy of Goku II. It’s all standard adventure gaming stuff with a dash of RPG thrown in to spice things up.
  10. Better than the first in every category.
  11. The game's primary goal is to distill roughly 38 hours of TV episodes into 15 or 20 hours of hands-on gameplay, and it succeeds at doing so.
  12. I like the characters though, and Webfoot Technologies has really done a good job of taking DBZ and turning it into a game.
  13. A slightly above-average game with unrealized potential. [July 2003, p.122]
  14. Fans of the series will like this game. It controls well, follows the story of the show almost religiously, and has some replay if you like leveling up.
  15. Though the action portions could still use some tweaking, Legacy of Goku II is a better effort all around that is bolstered by colorful graphics and catchy music taken straight from the TV show. DBZ fans can buy this with confidence. [Fall 2003, p.45]
  16. To date, the essential DBZ gme. Go Atari! [Aug 2003, p.76]
  17. 75
While its gameplay is neither fantastic nor bad, overall, it's a solid action-RPG that does a great job of capturing the phenomenon on which it's based. [July 2003, p.50]
  18. Better than the original in almost every respect. [Aug 2003, p.80]
  19. The play control is responsive and intuitive, but the difficulty is high from the first battle. [July 2003, p.146]
  20. 70
Although the core gameplay’s still pretty mundane, nearly all the faults of the original have been fixed. The control’s much more forgiving (you can actually land combos now), the graphics aren’t so drab anymore, and the music’s a dead ringer for the anime soundtrack.
  21. The overarching plot is fittingly epic and the graphics are fine, but plebian puzzles and problem-fraught combat guarantee frustration in this humdrum quest. [July 2003, p.123]

If you're looking for 2D open world action adventure games then The Legacy Of Goku 2 & 3 (Buu's Fury) are excellent choices. I would love a console remake of this series, sort of like Sleeping Dogs meets Xenoblade Chronicles meets Mass Effect 2. Full Review »

By far the best game in the Legacy of goku series, this is a fantastic action rpg, with a satisfying level up system, really good representiation of the story, good graphics and music, and the game has an overall great immersion to the Dragon Ball Z universe. great inclusion of multiple playable characters, and lots of unique techniques and moves, this top down action rpg is one of the best handheld dragon ball z games, and is a great way to play through the most intense story arch in all of dragon ball. Just is not that good. it is way to easy to beat and is very short. I am really dissaponted with this one when the 1st one was so good. graphics are a little more better, but the Ai in this game is so bad so yes it is easy. just save your self some money and get number one if you did not have it yet or did not play it or buy supersonic.
