  1. This title's adherence to both the substance and sytle of the show are what kept me playing it - and I'm not even a fan. [May 2002, p.88]
  2. It’s like that delicious piece of cake you receive at a party; scrumptious but anything but filling. Such is this, short indeed but an enjoyable experience while it lasts.
  3. I was frustrated by its slow, aggravating gameplay, but I still enjoyed it enough to keep playing and I hated to see it end.
  4. 65
The story should rekindle your fondness for the series, since you're basically replaying through the same storyline as the cartoon.
  5. 60
It seems like half of the enemies can’t hurt you while the other half can kill you instantly, which means repeated saving and loading until you get used to the battle system.
  6. With a combination of repetitive tasks, mundane fighting, and the fact that the game only takes five hours to beat, Legacy of Goku is not a game, it is an insult to the fans.
  7. 58
The game's biggest flaw: it doesn't capture the essence of the anime series.
  8. Battling enemies is both frustrating and boring thanks to touchy hit detection and extremely repetitive fights. [June 2002, p.122]
  9. Short, easy, and lacking in imagination.
  10. It's fairly basic RPG gaming, but it's got the fine details that'll please fans of the show. [May 2002, p.142]
  11. If it weren’t for the engaging story that Dragonball Z tells (and is faithfully reproduced here), I would have chucked this game after the first ten minutes.
  12. This game is an insult to both DBZ fans and gamers. The gameplay design is so sloppy and poor that it doesn’t deserve the DBZ name.
  13. A bad game. In fact, it may well be the worst game of the year 2002. About the only redeeming quality it possesses is that it can be finished in well under five hours, making it so that the torture of playing the game itself is relatively short-lived.
  14. 20
Even at a scant five hours, it's hard to believe that playing this game will be a worthwhile experience for any gamers, no matter how fond they are of the series.
  15. A sucky game. There's no two ways around it. The graphics are mediocre, the gameplay is utter crap, sound and music are redundant and forgettable, and don't even get me started on the story.

  1. I love DBZ, i played most of their games and beat them all. But,tho, this is a crap, the difficulty is freaking hard, and especially when it limits you many stuff, you baely can even fly, making it even more harder to escape when you're in bad conditions. Also, the enemies are like bosses, you need to cross your fingers to kill the dam-- monster. And right in the beginning in the walk-throughout , there some snake, that arent visible to the human aye, at least in the sequels they improved a lot. It's just the beginning folks. Full Review »
