  1. The story is well-told, but the still-shot cinematics don't look like they belong with the rest of the game. [Dec 2005, p.122]

Driv3r, which runs on one of the more impressive 3D engines for the GBA, tries to cram every bit of it's big console brothers down to GBA-sized fun. While some of it succeeds, the game is hampered by some very large problems - targeting and collision detection. Aiming your gun at targets is extremely difficult to do, as camera control is almost non-existant; the whole thing could really have benefited from some manner of lock-on. But Collision detection is where this game really, really fails. On one of the many missions where you must follow a car (without falling too far behind or getting too far ahead), often times the car you are following can plow right through other vehicles as if they didn't even exist - while, unfortunately for you, if you touch anything: lamp posts, other cars, etc. - you bounce off them like a pinball. Catching up after one of these incidents is almost impossible, especially because unwedging your car from whatever you hit is equally as difficult. If you can ignore those two, this is a solid game - but if you're looking for portable Driver fun, I'd reccomend Driver 2 for the Gameboy Advance. Visually it might be worse; but it offers up much, much more solid gameplay. Full Review »

Driv3r is an open world game for the Game Boy Advance, and that in itself is rare. It reminds me big time of a Grand Theft Auto game that is rated Teen. Gets kind of boring once you get into the harder levels, but it has good graphics and decent game play. It is a great game for exploring and a great game for the Game Boy Advance. Full Review »
