  1. With a little more time, greater character selection, and making the game a little harder, Capcom will have a serious contender on their hands.
  2. Presents absolutely no challenge, even on the hardest difficult setting. [August 2002, p.91]
  3. 16 utterly original characters. [June 2002, p.152]

This will definitely fit the bill when you need your free-roaming Guilt trip, but there are better GBA fighting games on the market.
  5. I think the key to the success of this game is that it brings a great look and story that ports very nicely to the Game Boy Advance.
  6. Like any fighting game, though, it's only as good as its replay value, and GGX's is a little better than average. [August 2002, p.136]
  7. Guilty Gear's opponent AI isn't so much bad as utterly non-existent. [Edge]
