  1. Knowing the story is a great asset here, but I feel that anyone can enjoy this one. The colors, characters and environment add to the challenge of the quests.
  2. Fans will be spellbound by the game's attention to detail. [Dec 2001, p.170]

Pottermaniacs will love exploring even a 2D version of Hogwarts, but be prepared for challenging and sometimes frustrating gameplay.
  4. The GBA version is less than enchanting. [Spring 2002, p.34]
  5. 60
The actual game design lacks the plot's originality, as it depends on basic ideas to drive the adventure for hours.
  6. The overall design and presentation is the game’s strong point and helps to make up for the fact that there isn’t a whole lot of substance underneath.
  7. While visually and aurally sound, and at times impressive, Harry Potter's GBA debut is neither innovative nor particularly compelling from a gameplay perspective.
  8. Fans looking for a quick ride through the events of teh book and movie will be pleased with Potter GBA, because that's all it is. [Feb 2002, p.172]

Too short, too annoying, too frustrating and repetitive. Strictly for fans of the books and movies.

Its a fun and adventurous game that gets on your nerve after you beat it the third time. Although it is addicting its effects are cartoon and un-trying. It is poorly letdown that way. I think harry Potter deserves more, but I got what I got. And for some reason, ignoring its flaws, its a great game. It flows with the Harry Potter movies and games, it carefully portrays the way Hogwarts would look like animatedly. Its excellence is profound by just enjoying it by playing it. Its one of the best games to be playing on the road. Full Review »
