  • Summary: Take to the air in a game that allows players to fully experience the magical speed, power, and competition of Quidditch, the favorite sport of witches and wizards. In Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup, you'll experience the full complexity and exciting challenge of Quidditch, which involves two teams of seven players who fly on broomsticks, playing four balls simultaneously. You control every position on a team, including three Chasers who try to score with the Quaffle, two Beaters who control the dangerous Bludgers, the Keeper who protects the goal, and the Seeker who chases the elusive Golden Snitch that must be caught to end the match. 1. The game is so fast-paced, it's often difficult to keep track of the action. [Jan 2004, p.161]

While Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup is a faithful handheld version of the literary sport, it doesn't quite work as a game without the feeling of flight that is Quidditch's most magical aspect.

Admittedly a shallow game design and leaves a lot of room for improvement if it wants to really establish itself as a sport.
  4. While EA has done an OK job of turning quidditch into a video game, the sport itself doesn't have enough depth to it to headline a stand-alone product.
  5. Multi scrolling levels give the game a 3D appearance which will fool some gamers for a while but it's hard not to get bored playing on the same plane.
  6. Potter fans may like the game because it lets them experience Quidditch first hand, but this isn't the kind of sport you play for hours on end. [Spring 2004, p.42]

This game is perfect and the images are unbelievable. You can do full throttle dive bombs and awesome new never before seen quidditch moves used by everybody. It really gets your adrenaline rushing! Expand

Harry Potter fans will like this game at least for a while but it gets kinda boring. gameplay is good but it doesn't give you the quidditch feelin. Still... I kinda enjoyed it (is that bad?) Expand

This is a so so game. The graphics are OK, the gameplay is not very good when your chasing the snitch. but it is kind of fun....
