Graphics were obviously the top priority when this game was being developed. The graphics are by far the BEST I have ever seen on the Game Boy Advance, but the gameplay takes a toll. It just isn't very fun. The AI is very difficult even on easy mode, and the power-ups are a mixed bag. The power ups show up as different colored stars, but you will have to remember what they do because theGraphics were obviously the top priority when this game was being developed. Overall this game isn't worth it. Though the graphics are stunning, the game itself is very boring. Expand

The overall game makes a lackluster effort at capturing the spirit of the film. [Aug 2005, p.85]
  2. It's not that Herbie is a bad game; it's just way too simple and way too short to hold your interest, and your money could be better spent on any of several other GBA games out there, racing or otherwise.
  3. The smooth 3D graphics are the game's lone bright spot. Otherwise, the driving is too basic, the AI is too dumb, and there are barely enough tracks and play options to occupy more than an hour of someone's time.
