Kirby & The Amazing Mirror may star a cute little ball of fluff and his doppelgangers, but it's still a fantastic game following in the footsteps of such classics as the Mario and Zelda adventures.
Amazing game! It takes the cute world of Kirby and flips it on it's head by turning it into a kind of dungeon crawler! Cool gimmicks, fun gameplay, overall just a S-tier game.
I have so much fun every time I play this game. Everything about it, from the story to the gameplay, is just amazing. I enjoyed every moment while playing this game
Tack on the extravagant multiplayer mode, and you have one of the best original side-scrollers to come along in a while. If you can cope with the backtracking, you'll have a blast.
There are a handful of abilities and items waiting to be discovered along with a little surprise to be earned after completing the game. Add that to the fact that the game's Four Kirby formula works, and you have a unique title.
I think Kirby and the Amazing Mirror is a very sweet game. It's a cute game. Maybe it's because of Kirby, but let's take a look at the game.
We know how barren these games are when it comes to story, they usually just give a simple explanation and then get into the game. Most of the games that come out in this period and are of this size - except for the story-based ones - come with a story of this size. Even though the "bad things happened, go fix them" story is very bland and pointless, I don't think anyone needs a deep story in a game this cookie-cutter.
The game looks sweet, the atmospheres of the different regions are very well differentiated, and there are also parts within the same region where different atmospheres are provided. Even though I haven't played this game much, I think if you show me a screen from a region, I can recognize it. The game is beautiful and special in this respect. The music is just as iconic.
It doesn't take a lot of time and the gameplay is not too complicated. It is always fun to transform Kirby into different characters. Also, since the game has an open world (yes, it's an open world, even though it's not that big), we can use these features in different parts of that open world and go somewhere. This adds a sweet Metrodivania vibe to the game. Everything about the game is average or just above average. But it manages to keep you entertained.
It's a simple game, it doesn't take much of your time. I think it manages to entertain you in that short time. Nintendo really knows how to make games like this. It was the master of this business in its time.
When you're not playing a port of Mario or Zelda, try Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, a subtle, but fantastic looking platformer for the GBA. Pros: Excellent visuals and control; the best 2-D platformer starring the pink puff ball; four Kirby formula actually works. Cons: Repetitious backtracking and mini-games; no support for the Wireless Adapter.
Kirby and the Amazing Mirror was not a fun game for me, but more so annoyed me with its confusing metroid-esque gameplay. But this alone doesn't make it a bad game for other players, just a bad experience for me. Still I wish the Amazing Mirror would stick more to the Kirby basics, but for what it does, it does well enough to not damper the Kirby name that most have come to know and appreciate.
ok, I feel like this was one of the worst kirby games ever. I say that because of the metroidvania aspect. It's not just because of it being a metroidvania that it's a problem but it's due to the non returning doors either. I also felt like the story was too complicated for what it was trying to do. The multiplayer **** too unlike star allies(the game most fans felt were mediocre even though I found it fun to watch them kill enemies). It also didn't help that it was my second kirby game so I expected nightmare in dreamland 2 but instead we got this. At least we got good music, beautiful graphics, and heath bars for enemies but that's about it.
SummaryOnce again, Kirby must save the kingdom from evil. But this time he'll need some backup. As Kirby, you can call up one of four alter egos for help during your quest. Each character features new copy abilities that range from arrow-shooting to melee moves. Practice your skills in new side games, such as Crackity Hack and Speed Eaters. In ...
