  1. Racing fans will probably be more apt to have fun with this one, but younger Hot Wheels fans (and grown ups) may get frustrated for a while getting the controls all figured out and avoiding spin outs.
  2. Feels like a Saturday morning spent playing with toy cars. That's its purpose, and to that end it succeeds nicely.
  3. Just isn’t exciting enough and without the necessary speed or danger you are left with a below par racer which soon runs out of gas.
  4. 55
Variety is definitely the best thing about the game, as is the amount of time it will take to uncover everything...but it's hard to enjoy it when the racer plays so sloppily.
  5. Link the GBA game with the GCN version of the game to unlock a bonus car. [Jan 2003, p.174]
  6. The D pad is not the best device for controlling any vehicle and in this game the control is too loose.
  7. For a game that's supposed to be featuring the cars, Velocity X's Hot Wheels are disappointingly rendered as tiny and grainy with a low amount of detail.
  8. An utterly unnecessary tribute to the Hot Wheels franchise.
  9. The default control scheme is exactly the opposite of what's intuitive for a racing game - you can reassign the controls, but you've got to do it every time you play the game.
  10. 22
If cars in the real world handled as inanely as they do in this game, we'd all be dead.
