  • Summary: Six Konami arcade classics arrive in Konami's Collectors Series: Arcade Advanced. For the first time in over ten years, play the original arcade version of the classic hit Frogger. Search the solar system, travel through time and space, and infiltrate enemy bases in Gyruss, Time Pilot, Rush 'n Attack, and Scramble. And test your martial arts skill in Yie Ar Kung Fu. With better graphics, levels, difficulty, and a multiplayer mode, Konami's compilation shows that its greatest games improve with age. Expand

A battery save would have been the icing on this otherwise delicious six-layer cake. However, even without it, Arcade Advanced is an excellent example of how a retro compilation should be done.

Konami didn't cheap out and quickly port six games to the system. They actually went the extra mile and included extras that gamers will enjoy discovering.
  3. Each one plays with a distinct style that's hard to get bored of. [May 2002, p.142]
