  1. Mazes of Fate might have had a slim chance a few years ago, but arriving alongside infinitely more capable competition renders rough, mediocre and annoying content immediately, undesirably obsolete.
  2. You can find better RPGs for the GBA, period. It's something of a diamond in the rough, it's just a bit too rough to recommend.

    It is sad when you figure that an older version of the same game is better, even slightly. They ported and somewhat modified the graphics (not the gameplay, more on that later) of the GBA version to the DS, and it didn't work. I already did a review of that game. This one, though, fares better because it looks and feels better, like it was meant for that system. Those are the only praises I can give as it is the same old boring dungeon crawler with no story, boring characters, terrible art, and gameplay that hasn't been innovative since the 90s. A good attempt from a budding company? Maybe. But they have to up their game if they want to make a dent in this industry. Too flat, too common, not enough effort. Do not buy. Full Review »

    Mazes of Fate is a love letter to PC RPGs from the past. The game is a real-time first-person action title that favors grid-based dungeon fighting over long-winded CGI scenes of things exploding. The user can choose from a magician, warrior, or rogue with fully customizable skills that change based upon gaining experience points from battling in monster-infested dungeons. Full Review »
