  1. With loads of action and old adventure, Megaman and Bass is also a game with plenty of depth and replay value to it. So fans of the mighty Blue Bomber rejoice and grab this game with no hesitation.

Looks remarkably similar to the 32-bit "Mega Man 8," which will make you wonder why all handheld games don't look this good. [Mar 2003, p.54]
  3. Hardcore Mega Man fans (or anyone else looking for a great, challenging action game) should seize this opportunity to take the blue bomber back to his old-school roots.
  4. 85
This game still has that "I know I can do it this time..." element that keeps players coming back, and when a game keeps you riveted to the system until you've completed the challenge, you know it's good.
  5. Unless you're completely worn out on the series, you'll find this to be one of the best action games on the GBA. [Apr 2003, p.132]
  6. If you have ever quit playing a game because you couldn't beat it, then Megaman and Bass may not be for you, as there is really no way to make the game easier.
  7. Offers everything a solid action title needs. Unless you're burnt out on Mega, you can't go wrong. [Mar 2003, p.91]
  8. Firmly planed in the blue bomber's action-packed side-scrolling past. [Apr 2003, p.80]
  9. Had Bass been added to the Megaman series years ago, it might not have run out of steam. [Summer 2003, p.44]
  10. 80
It represents Mega Man doing what he does best-beating bosses with cool themes, collecting their weapons, and overcoming well-designed levels that are difficult…but not stupidly-super-frustratingly difficult.
  11. It may be predictable, but it's fun. [May 2003, p.60]
  12. Easier than "Mega Man Zero" but harder than most of the NES titles.
  13. Anyone craving some old-style, surprisingly difficult Mega Man action shouldn't think twice before jumping right into Mega Man and Bass.
  14. For me, it's the depth of a game that keeps me playing it for hours and not setting the difficulty so high that you are forced to spend hours just repeating a level. I know, Capcom traditionally makes Mega Man games tough, but at some point a game has to be fun to play as well.
  15. Mega Man & Bass takes us back to the old gaming formula, away from the RPG elements that now dominate the series. It's a welcome blast from the past, the lost gem of the Mega Man GBA series.
  16. While it would have been nice if both characters offered entirely different storylines or if there were some bonus games thrown onto the cartridge, the bright colors, humorous enemies, and finger-twitching gameplay is well worth a purchase for anyone who grew up with Mega Man or is curious how this title character made his start in the industry.
  17. I gotta' warn you suckers, this Mega Man & Bass is one serious mother…"shut your mouth."
  18. 60
Anyone hoping this long dormant series to be reborn will be sorely disappointed. Anyone that hasn't tried a Mega Man game yet would be better advised to spend $15 on a new copy of "Mega Man 8" on the PSOne.

Really good Mega Man game (port of Japanese Rockman & Forte game for SNES, 1998). Too bad that they made Mega Man be such a wiener compared to Bass. Still, I prefer playing with Mega Man, since it makes the game more challenging. Oh, and without Mega Man you can't collect all the hidden CDs in the game. ;) Full Review »

    Best GBA Mega Man yet.
