  1. Monster Force's largest shortcoming seems to be occasionally repetitive gameplay. Those that can look past that, as well as the game's outward juvenile appearance, should find a solid title with fantastic presentation.
  2. 74
Classic monsters and load of pumpkins can't make up for repetitive gaming action.
  3. Fun and easy to learn, Monster Force is a top-down shooter with style.
  4. The limited life-span and confounded level layout relegates this title to mediocrity.
  5. The noteworthy music is superb, and the game's fun factor, graphics, presentation, controls and multiplayer mode are just as good. [June 2002, p.152]
  6. 65
That "sputtering" run is downright irritating, and the locked-down camera gives off a feeling of claustrophobia since you honestly can't see more than six feet in any direction.
  7. As it stands now, Monster Force's camera is too close and fixated to the protagonist, putting the player at an unnecessary disadvantage; poor vantage point for exploration and an easy Achilles heel for swarms of monsters to exploit.
  8. 60
It's the desperate lack of innovation that's the problem; everything here has been done a hundred times before.
  9. Dreary when it should be light and enjoyable, Monster Force is the videogame equivalent of last year's Time magazines in a doctor's waiting room.
