  1. Lots of hitting a button to advance the typed text, looped music that gets old after three-four minutes and generic platforming – this is a game that did not aspire to be much more than a cliché-driven title.

  1. I cfan't stand how bad Nicktoons: Attack of the Toybots for GBA is. Don't buy this game. If a cerial killer is giving you an option to play this game or get killed, don't play this game. Don't rent this game. Don't even smell it if you see it on shelf. First off, compared to the other versions of the game, the GBA version of NAOTT has only a few playable characters. None of them you'll love, because all of the personality is sucked right out of them. The dialouge is boring and pointless in between levels. The game starts off when Prof Calamitous is making an evil army of toybots to be on a TV show. You pick a starter Nicktoon and start off in Tak's world by default. The level is enjoyable for at least until you get further into it. You start in a Nicktoon based world which is, indeed, being invade by toybots. You platform to get from point a to point b. Ther's nothing special to it. Beat the robots, avoid traps, collect power ups that go away as soon as you attack somthing, it;s all too simple to enjoy. Things get really painful when you get to the second portion of the level: The lab section. You go through some sort of factory version of the level, and in each world, the background design is exactly the same. You spend most of your time here on slow, boring stripped platforms that feel like an eternity before they get to the other side of where you want to go. At the end, there is a boss fight against a robot version of the nicktoon that matches the world. This is the one part of the game you won't kill yourself over. The bosses are fun and creative. You have to dodge the attacks of and enemy, attack when it's right. This formula has been in so many games before, but it's suprising how this game manages to get it right. It's fun, but the fights are short. And the fun quickly ends. The first whole level took me about 20 minutes to complete, and was angonizing and painful. Then, after the boss, I got a key which allowed me to het a new Nicktoon. I played through the painful next level and got through the factory portion. But wait... Now my OTHER NICKTOON HAS TO GET ACROSS THE SAME EXACT LEVEL THAT TOOK ME 20 MIN TO COMPLETE!!!!! This just drags the already horrible experience on for longer, and this pain only increases the further you play the game, as you will get more and more Nicktoons as you go on. What's worse is that after you complete the game with one starter Nicktoon, you are forced to mplay as another starter Nicktoon, which doesn't change the experience at all. The same painful game I have to play again. UUUUUUUGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! The game also uses an outdated version of saves: the most hateful passwords. For evey starter character, you have to enter a code to continue, a thing that we abandoned 7 years back when the GBC eneded. The passwords are all just two button pressers, and you can just complete the whole game with no effort with just a little experimenting with the passwords. Once you've completed each starter nicktoon's game 100% (HOW?!!), you get to unlock Super Elite Mode, which is, AGAIN, the same exact game, only you get to keep your upgrades that you got at the end of levels. This doesn't make the game more fun than before, and is hardly worth your time and effort. Even writing and just thinking about this game is painful and boring. I'm flat out done with this. Here's your score: Nicktoons: Attack of the Toybots for GBA get a 2 out of 10. If you buy this game, you've wasted a huge part of your life. You've couldv'e done great things. But no. Go ahead. Cry. I understand. Full Review »
