  1. While it may not have the depth and grandeur some would look for, it has enough character to stand out from the other licensed titles.
  2. Perhaps the best aspect of the game is that you will care a lot about collecting treasure.
  3. At times, the game seems to focus more on mundane wandering around than on interesting pirate activity, but the action picks up as the story progresses. [Sept 2003, p.137]
  4. This lack of depth, coupled with the weak combat and repetitive levels, equals a pirate game that won't even manage to steal away an hour of your precious time. [Sept 2003, p.126]
  5. It be a poor portrayal of the pirate's life, says I.
  6. Exactly like every other cookie-cutter movie/cartoon-licensed platformer.
  7. Every fight and puzzle "packed" into this game's 20-plus levels would be found in the first level of most other games. [Fall 2003, p.51]

This game is horrendous. A password-based save system? I thought we were searching for treasure, not lost progress. Poor gameplay. An unbelievably poor representation of Jack Sparrow, as a bald-headed, naive, uncertain apprentice. Zero connection to the actual movie. Poor all the way around. Expand
