  1. The graphical detail throughout makes this a new watershed in handheld game design.
  2. 93
The best platformer currently available for the GBA; Ubisoft beat Mario at his own game... for now.
  3. 90
Absolutely gorgeous, offering multiple scrolling backgrounds with superbly detailed, painted look to them.
  4. Features great graphics, amusing animation, and terrific game play.
  5. As good as it gets when it comes to platform games. I even like this game better than "Super Mario Advance."
  6. The thing that makes this game good enough to warrant purchase is its clever design and game play, along with graphics that’ll have your eyes bugging out of your head.
  7. Some of the most imaginative levels ever. [GamesMaster Magazine, #109]
  8. Looking good doesn’t hurt the game, but it’s RA’s accessibility that makes it a game that every fan of platform gaming should have. There’s a sense of fun about RA.
  9. It will take you a while to beat this game. And even when you've beaten it, you still haven't beaten it until you go back and rescue all the little Electoon dudes. So, replayability is good.
  10. It looks great and provides a decent challenge. [Feb 2003, p.97]
  11. It’s fun, it’s beautiful and it’s what you’ve always wanted on a handheld in terms of platform mechanics.
  12. 80
This port of the PlayStation classic is easily the most beautiful looking game in the GBA launch lineup, with huge, colorful, and astonishingly well-animated characters and backgrounds.
  13. Anyone who is not prepared to be mercilessly challenged should avoid the purchase.
  14. The only real complaint that can be lodged against this port of the game is that its camera is zoomed in too close to the action.
  15. Graphically, this is the finest game we've experienced on the new handheld console and once you've seen some of the incredible character animations, you won't know whether to laugh or cry in sheer amazement.
  16. It offers solid platform-based gameplay and a good deal of enjoyment for those patient enough to reap its rewards.

  1. Rayman passed untouchable in the GBA, similar to the PS adaptations that made the franchise important. What i want now, is too Ubisoft stop being lazy, and make more of this frantastic series. Full Review »
  2. Rayman Advance is easily one of the most challenging GBA titles. For that reason, I nearly ripped of my finger in frustration (sarcasm.) But the graphics are colorful and the animation is jaw-dropping. I just wish that the game had more music in it that isn't so repetitive. Full Review »

Make no mistake this game is *hard* and there will be times when you want to throw down your GBA in frustration. However Rayman is an absolutley classic platformer with plenty of variation and huge reply value. Full Review »
