  1. I wonder if this is the game that should have graced the big consoles instead of "Robotech: Battlecry." [Jan 2003, p.122]
  2. 70
It'll take a much stronger effort than this to give anyone other than Robotech fans the game they've been waiting for.
  3. With such a terrible basic challenge, you’d have to be a dangerous Robotech fanatic to get any joy out of playing.
  4. You can transform your Veritch from a Fighter to a Guardian to a 40-foot-tall Battloid. [Dec 2002, p.222]
  5. The game has a laundry list of problems, from being too short to suffering from horrific slowdown, that prevent it from being as interesting as its source material.
  6. 50
It's obvious that the developers had no passion for the series, nor did they try to implement any unique ideas that used features from the series.
  7. The epitome of shovelware. The spirit of Robotech is nowhere to be found in this game.

It's a decent enough title to bolster the woefully slim shooter genre titles available for the GBA, but aside from VERY mild aesthetic touches and the mere fact that the ship transforms there is nothing rewarding Robotech fans. It's not as awful as some might push you to think, but aside from being mired in a lukewarm existence there's nothing pressing to entice those who are neither shooter fans or Robotech freaks. Or both, if you're both then you really ought to look out for this game. Full Review »
