  • Summary: This game will feature six official events based on the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 2 out of 7
  2. Negative: 2 out of 7
  1. The animation is solid, the environmental graphics are superb, and the designers have done an excellent job of translating the feel of Olympic competition to the GBA.
  2. My favorite part of this game has got to be the curling; it translates exceptionally well to videogamedom...The mechanics are simple and yet this is a very involving mini-game and is worth the price of admission all by itself.
  3. Not that bad. Salt Lake 2002’s main problem is in the number of events provided, as six just do not last long enough and the events do not really lend themselves for much replay value anyway.

The only event worth playing many times over is, strangely enough, Curling. But the package, as a whole, is pretty cold in its Olympic presentation.
  5. I'd avoid this game faster than doing the skeleton in the nude. [Apr 2002, p.89]
  6. A vapid title for me, ultimately devoid of any fun.
  7. The audio effects sound crude and the view of the action tends to be awkward for the downhill and Curling events, but the game gets a gold medal as far as variety and graphics. [Feb 2002, p.154]

There's Curling! Come on, what other game has curling? They really need to make a Curling game all by itself, however. Imagine, you have to ever so slightly move the analog stick to throw the rock down the ice and then you could have 2 other people your playing with scrub to make the rock go where it's supposed to. If you ask me, that would be a pretty sweet multiplayer game. Expand
