Critic score distribution:
  1. Positive: 2 out of 8
  2. Negative: 1 out of 8
  1. A decent movie-based title and is pretty fun to boot, especially because the mishmash of different genres provides additional variety. It's fairly easy to learn and play, so kids and new gamers should be able to pick it up without too much frustration.
  2. A respectable GBA entry but nothing out of the ordinary. Vicarious Visions usually pulls through with their GBA games and Shark Tale is no different… it just doesn't try to wow you.
  3. Graphics are crisp and colorful on the screen, and there is enough variety in play style to keep interest going.
  4. 6 / 6 / 7 / 6  - 25 [Vol 851]
  5. Shark Tale thrives on its variety and doesn't disappoint.
  6. I found this freedom to be restricted by tight controls. Put plainly, the D-pad sucks. Had the controls been more sensitive, Oscar's movement would have been more fluid, players would have gotten a better representation of the underwater environment, and my hands would hurt much less.
  7. The levels meander and the action is a little tedious, but the game is a solid effort. [Nov 2004, p.132]
  8. The graphics are blocky and unclear, the storyline is weak, and the combat is uninteresting and repetitive.
