  1. Despite the decent visuals, the repetitive action drags this one down. Thankfully the game can be completed in about two hours. [Summer 2003, p.49]
  2. The character movement is much less restrictive than the movement in most isometric-view games. [May 2003, p.140]

Simply a mediocre action game with not a whole lot of things to do.
  4. The game ultimately fails because of its repetitive level design and a control system that’s more irritating than fun.
  5. Instead of a Superhero game this one is more of a go here and punch this guy, repeat and move on. Not even die-hard fans like Vaughn would have many nice things to say of this version.

This game should probably be called "Superman: Punch People A Lot" since you can only get to the final boss if you earn three S shields on every level, and you can only earn three S shields if you don't use heat vision. Which is to say, it's a Superman game that doesn't let you be Superman. Also, it's boring and ugly and the music isn't very good. Full Review »
