70Side-scrolling beat-'em-up action with your favorite superheroes. Worth a rental, and worth stealing from your little brother. But not worth buying for yourself.
-
65At the end of the day, The Incredibles isn't particularly noteworthy. The game is like nearly every other beat-em-up on the GBA and the game seems to be perfectly fine with that.
-
The level of difficulty and play control are well-tuned, though, and the graphics have a comic-book look that fits the subject. [Dec 2004, p.150]
-
Unless the GBA is your only system I'd recommend fighting crime on the big consoles and leave this version to the really young kids or those doomed to play games on the commute to school or work. The Incredibles is fun but not that fun and certainly not as good as the movie that inspired it.
-
63A simplistic but pleasant beat-'em-up. The combat isn't complicated, and there isn't much payoff for beating the whole thing, but the ride does have its moments.
-
61Controls are handled with the usual aplomb, using the A and B buttons for various moves/attacks, and augmenting them with Incredible power by hitting the L shoulder button.
-
55Sure, you're able to use different powers, but it's still contrived and after the first half an hour or so, the gameplay becomes boring.
-
50I had a good time playing it for the first hour or so. But after that, the lack of originality and the repetition of the game really started to wear on me.
-
50The game play suffers tremendously from lack of variation and any type of depth.
-
It's not terrible but it's so generic that I have to warn you about it.
-
40The GBA can't make a game that looks anything like the sensational film, and clearly using a Double Dragon engine from the 8-bit era, and giving us lots and lots of uninspired action against swarms of clones in recycled backgrounds isn't the solution to the hardware's glass ceiling. This effort isn't worthy of the license.
-
40This game should have been embarrassed to even rear its ugly head. Give it a pass and tell at least two friends to do the same, if you don't want them hating you come December.
-
The game is short, but made to feel long and tedious through repetition. Not recommended.
