  1. The extra additions of the grooves and super combos was also a stroke of genius, and now that I look at this tiny little disc, I have to ask myself, “How did they fit it all in there?”
  2. Very little has changed since when it first graced home consoles on the Super Nintendo and that is no bad thing.

An excellent 2D fighting game...The game does not work for one simple reason -- the GameCube controller.
  4. It's fast, beautifully rendered, and full of challenge. [Oct 2002, p.195]

This is a great game for Street Fighter fans. I just loved the "GC-ism", no need to keep trying to do that awesome move/special, you just tilt the C-stick and it´s done !!! I keep sending hadoukens all day long. Thanks a lot Capcom! Expand

The control IS in fact annoying at first, but the rest of the game is so polished that it makes you look beyond that. Given time, the controls feel pretty natural, and I personally think that anyone who feels that pulling off specials and supers and such should be more difficult than it is with the a-stick should ask themselves an important question: Isn't the fact that the moves are easy to pull off GOOD? Other than that, I love the innovative fighting system, though this game loses a point because it fails to include more elements from Darkstalkers...which just happens to be my favorite fighting game EVER. Die-hard Street Fighter fans will enjoy it, but the graphics are unattractive and, as usual, the final bosses are TOO powerful (a single blow can´t take HALF of your energy away!!!). Moreover, the endings are so poor that you just don´t feel that fighting all the way up there is worthy... Expand

The engine is good, the graphics are good, but the old SF ALPHA graphics are beyond irritating! Ugly! I think Capcom's III 3rd Strike and SF 2 have 100x more "style". Also, the voices are silly in CvsS2. Except the SNK side, which is cool. Also, the fact that it was released late sucked. Finally, Fighting games are the best when they concentrate on Martial Arts, not "anime!!" Expand
