  1. The extra additions of the grooves and super combos was also a stroke of genius, and now that I look at this tiny little disc, I have to ask myself, “How did they fit it all in there?”
  2. Very little has changed since when it first graced home consoles on the Super Nintendo and that is no bad thing.

An excellent 2D fighting game...The game does not work for one simple reason -- the GameCube controller.

Though the game is still technically and visually sound, the control is just so horrid that it’ll make you wonder why this project was even green-lighted. [Import]
  5. A high quality fighting game. Just be wary that the GC controller isn’t the best for it.
  6. 66
Recommended for hardcore fighting fans. Others may want to go with the version on PS2's console -- the controller is definitely better.
  7. A solid fighting game, filled with many likable characters. Unfortunately, the GameCube's controller just wasn't designed to work well with a game like this, and it cripples your ability to play and enjoy it.

I own a Superpad controller which makes the special moves much easier to perform than the standard Gamecube controller. The graphics, music, characters, and moves in this game are all top rate. I would highly recommend it if you have the right controller for it. Expand

Given time, the The control IS in fact annoying at first, but the rest of the game is so polished that it makes you look beyond that. Given time, the controls feel pretty natural, and I personally think that anyone who feels that pulling off specials and supers and such should be more difficult than it is with the a-stick should ask themselves an important question: Isn't the fact that the moves are easy to pull off GOOD? Other than that, I love the innovative fighting system, though this game loses a point because it fails to include more elements from Darkstalkers...which just happens to be my favorite fighting game EVER. The engine is good, the graphics are good, but the old SF ALPHA graphics are beyond irritating! Ugly! I think Capcom's III 3rd Strike The engine is good, the graphics are good, but the old SF ALPHA graphics are beyond irritating! Ugly! I think Capcom's III 3rd Strike and SF 2 have 100x more "style". Also, the voices are silly in CvsS2. Except the SNK side, which is cool. Also, the fact that it was released late sucked. Finally, Fighting games are the best when they concentrate on Martial Arts, not "anime!!" Expand
