It looks pretty good, the sound design is enjoyable and there's some great variety in levels. But, overall, it doesn't really change much about the formula. Overall, someone who is new to the Crash games will enjoy this a lot, but seeasoned Crash fans won't really find anything new here… Full Review »

The controls are ever so slightly stiffer than WARPED's, and somehow feel more precise and worse at the same time. Little subtle things are missing, like sliding into a sideways spin is gone, spinning and jumping while turbo running causes you to lose momentum (and boy it's INCREDIBLY noticeable, almost painful)
Hanging from ceilings is painfully slow, and overall the game just feels a bit sluggish. Some of the sound mixing isn't done, some sound effects/voices are too loud while some are too quiet (Play the Tornado Alley level, you'll know what i am talking about immediately.) Thankfully there's very few glitches and nothing game breaking as far as i can tell unlike a certain OTHER game starring a playstation mascot after he branched out to other consoles. Oh did a mention there's also a bit of slowdown all throughout the game? I get the feeling that wasn't present on the original PS2 version, but don't even think of buying that version, trust me, pick this or the XBOX port. (if you're curious why, the PS2 version has a lot of time trials that were untested so the platinum relics are near impossible to get, the ports have them all tested and fixed)
There are three spots where this game stands out incredibly, The Soundtrack and the amount of variety in both areas and gameplay. The soundtrack is AMAZING and literally every single level in this game is completely unique aesthetically. That alone is pretty impressive. Only one Track gets reused in the entire game and it's the end credits song. There's so many vehicles in this game that the game feels fresh almost constantly, and tbh hats off them for that because i know how much work that can be for a programmer. But in all seriousness, the OST for this game is absolutely flooring. It really is amazing and it's easily the strongest part of this game. This was one of the first videogame OSTs i ever downloaded and I haven't looked back, it's the sole reason i gave it a 7 instead of a 6. The Soundtrack alone will keep you playing this game for a long time.
In Summary, it's obvious they wanted to make a good crash game but instead of being super creative they basically tried to emulate what the series has already done. But to be fair, the spots where they did their own thing they did pretty fantastic. The sad thing is you can still feel how hard this game wishes it was Crash Bandicoot Warped.
