  1. The idea of taking hostages in a first person shooter is novel, and stealth also can be interesting. None of that negates the impact the auto-aim has on the game, or how frustrating the controls can be. Throw in the terrible graphics, the linear missions, and the lack of any sort of multiplayer and Die Hard Vendetta is one of the worse Gamecube FPS’s.
  2. The execution is sloppy, and in the end, the game simply feels unfinished.
  3. 43
    The embodiment of third-rate gameplay.
  4. If you want a game that does the franchise justice, you can probably pick up the fantastically entertaining Die Hard Trilogy on PSone for about one eighth of the cost of this.

Playing DHV makes me feel like Hans Gruber at the end of the first "Die Hard" film: falling backward toward the pavement, flailing and screaming. [Dec 2002, p.228]
  6. 40
Its bargain-basement visuals, vapid enemy A.I., and flaccid controls ensure that the game could stand accused of lameness in a court of law.
  7. Play Magazine
    40
Uneventful level desigin and poor AI. [Feb 2003, p.91]
  8. The controls here are totally unsatisfying. Tack on narrow-minded gameplay and dim graphics and you've got a game that dies quite easily, actually.

The uneven difficulty ruins the game from time to time. You can't save during game, so If John is killed, you go back to the beginning of the stage, or to a checkpoint. You should have no problem dispatching the enemies in the game, the auto-aim is probably the most lenient one out there. The shootouts are too easy with the auto-aim, and to hard with the manual-aim, as the crosshair automatically goes back to the centre of the screen. Full Review »

I expected more because I got this game after sell my metroid prime. The graphics are not the best, the control is clunky. It has some humor, but this is not enough for a good experience. Buy it only if you are a fan of those movies. Full Review »

I love killing and it is sort or nice how generous the auto aim is if you just like quick hop in a room and kill fifteen man in 3 and when I love killing and it is sort or nice how generous the auto aim is if you just like quick hop in a room and kill fifteen man in 3 and when you get the last slow mo shot, you can still see the other 7 men dropping cuz it was down so quick and followed by silence makes you feel like you really kicked some ass, but other then that the game sucks, for many reason, can i say one thing DEAD END , they everywhere, you can only beat this game if your lucky to run into everything your sposed to do. Shit you have to cross and be precise but you cant with the dam controls. The auto jump was neat handy but i coulda easily done with out, overall killlings fun if you can get that far. dam hostages!
