I got a lot more of a simulation than I could have imagined.
The pitching engine makes both pitching and hitting very realistic. [May 2002, p.134]
The complete antithesis of "All Star Baseball 2003." It relies on tons of big hits and arcade action in general to keep its brand of baseball interesting.
It's a good overall game, but could have been a refreshing title had it redirected its focus and gone all out in either direction -- sim or arcade.
Fast at points, tedious others, with a clear emphasis on batting, but no way to really direct one's hit angle or power.
The gameplay formula [is] a complete and utter catastrophe. [May 2002, p.84]
An unwieldy pitching system and terrible fielding result in a twin killing for those expecting to connect with a fast-paced baseball game.
