80Even though it might be over too quickly for platforming veterans, those who like action from the word go will find their long lost pal in Kao the Kangaroo 2. With an enormous and linear breath of fresh air feeling, this game puts the cool back in old school and will have most gamers jumping for joy for as long as it lasts!
-
75Snootier reviewers may give it a pass as it doesn't offer much in the way of innovation or challenges, but it still delivers action-packed excitement. However, it's pretty short and there's not a whole lot of incentive to replay it after finishing.
-
70Sure, Kao the Kangaroo: Round 2 does absolutely nothing to push the genre forward; but it's hard to deny that the game is a very fun distraction while it lasts.
-
61Kao's latest adventure isn't very innovative or challenging, but it is varied enough to hold a player's attention for an entire weekend.
-
The real problem is that it has been done so many times before that at some stages in the game you get that déjà vu feeling you played the same location, executed the exact move and experienced the same sequence of events but this time it's a Kangaroo you are sharing it with and not another endearing character.
-
55The characters and environments are amazingly generic as well and the graphical and audio production is simply average.
-
This boring mess of a sequel should KO the franchise for good. [May 2006, p.94]

AndrewM.6A solid game, but it lacks the creative spirit of the original title.
