  1. It provides a great looking, challenging boxing title which has enough challenges and difficulties to keep you coming back to get drilled on some more.
  2. 86
Artificial intelligence could be improved, with obvious gaffes affected by opposing boxers in the heat of battle, but overall, it's no slouch.
  3. A good improvement over previous renditions of the game. I wouldn’t put it in the same class as Madden but it is a quality video game that fighting/boxing fans should investigate.
  4. For amateurs it is a button-mashing contest, for professionals it takes skill and strategy. That’s the only catch. People who dislike the randomness of hitting as many buttons as fast as they can will be turned off by the first impressions Knockout Kings presents.
  5. Nintendo Power
The action is fierce, the graphics are great and the play control is rock soid. [Nov 2002, p.84]
  6. 83
The control mechanics are the core of the experience, and they're second-to-none in Knockout Kings 2003. Fighting is intuitive and flexible.
  7. Looks great, plays very well, and offers enough of a challenge to last a while, which adds up to make Knockout Kings 2003 a must-own for any fight fan.
  8. The wisely balanced sim and arcade elements are combined with fantastic presentation to make for a very slick package that boxing fans will enjoy.
  9. Game Informer
This was just better than 2002. Now all I need is a better boxer creator and punch stats. [Nov 2002, p.132]
  10. 70
Its sizzling-paced pugilism still favors button-mashing to true skill and finesse, which may or may not frost your Mini-Wheats depending on your taste.
  11. I think I might be in the minority thinking this game is an absolute mountain of canine fecal matter... just another quick hit to get a gamer’s $50 on a new console that doesn’t have any competition for it.
  12. 60
In spite of its problems, this remains the best boxing game on the market.
  13. Personally I'd rather face 15 rounds with Mike Tyson than play this again.

I think it is a good video game to play because it has impresive graphics and a very big selection of fighters.
