  1. The Story mode was a great idea that just fell short in its execution. The fighting was a little bit shallow, but it was still fun.
  2. A rather straightforward 3D brawler, with enemies materializing in a green haze and fairly begging to be dispatched with prejudice. [Oct 2005, p.55]
  3. Keep your expectations in check, and there's some fun in the mayhem. [Oct 2005, p.126]
  4. Faceless-cyborg-smashing melee battles are repetitive, uninspired, and glitchy. And with each story line presented in a series of minimissions averaging 3 to 4 minutes apiece, you spend a lot of your time switching characters and saving and loading instead of just playing the darn game. [Nov 2005, p.138]
  5. A fighting game that had all the makings of a truly stellar fighter but with so many flaws it manages to knock itself out before the fight even ends.
  6. A weak in the knees one button beat-em-up that has absolutely no teeth. The fighting engine is so watered down that only geeking Marvel fanboys will elicit any enjoyment out of spending any time with it.
  7. An odd visual style tops off a very poor title in a suitably poor manner, jumping between looking halfway decent and just plain nasty. An unbalanced and sorely broken mess. [Dec 2005, p.106]

Easy to learn, an abundance of Marvel superheroes and lots of stuff blows up. A shallow, but fun game.

I think its is a very cool game to play with friends who doesnt own it, it is easy to handle as their is no need to learn combos etc.

Interesting game... falls short on the gameplay section. Graphics in the game are pretty good. Some textures are bland though. Slightly disappointing. EA can do better. Expand

A decent fighter similar to Power Stone. You really get a feel for the super hero's personalities. Single player story mode is monotonous, vs mode is the real reason to play the game. Expand

This game brought me hours of fun. Between it's intriguing and original storyline to it's fun and mindless pvp matches. Amazing character models and cool "zombie" alternates as well as awesome and unique characters created by a collaboration with EA. Unfortunately, the graphics bland and not vibrant, giving it an almost muddy look. But this is one the most underrated games of all time and it's a shame a sequel never saw the light of day. I really would have liked to have seen an improvement on this title. Also, this game contains the best spiderman character model in a video game of all time. Expand

This game was a real let down. I expected a lot more out of it. Each character's moves are just a variation from the other character's in the game. The story mode is stupid and repetitive...not interesting at all. The VS mode is only mediocre. Expand

Where's the gameplay? Why can't I be Captain America or the Punisher? The best part is when the enemies stick in walls and the cars float.
