  • Summary: Head back behind enemy lines with Lt. Jimmy Patterson in Medal of Honor Frontline. In this installment of the Medal of Honor series, Lt. Patterson is on a mission to infiltrate the German frontline and steal the HO-IX flying wing, an experimental Nazi weapon so powerful it could turn the tide of World War II. All 20 levels and six major missions in the game are based on real World War II events. You'll also find authentic weapons, including the Colt .45, Springfield sniper rifle, Panzerschreck rocket launcher, and Browning automatic rifle. The World War II experience just got more intense. 1. The most important thing about this game is that it's realistic, which means that the immersion value is definitely higher than in a fantasy game like "TimeSplitters 2."
  2. While not quite as polished as the mighty "TimeSplitters 2" from EIDOS, Frontline offers a great deal of FPS entertainment with an atmosphere that simply can't be beaten.
  3. The D-Day mission is one of the most intense and awesome levels I've played in a long time. [Jan 2003, p.171]

Gamers hoping for the next GoldenEye will be dissapointed with Frontline's mediocre multiplayer, but will have no trouble falling in love with the solid one player campaign mode. As far as first person shooters on the GameCube go, Medal of Honor: Frontline is pretty dang good.

The sense of atmosphere in MOH is magnificent. It really immerses you in the environment and makes you feel as if you're really starring on the front line of a massive war.
  6. World War II buffs will certainly enjoy this game, but if you're looking for a great GameCube shooter, you'll probably want to look elsewhere.
  7. Of greater concern are the problems with the hit detection -- far too frequently, an enemy soldier is only stunned by a bullet through the head. Predicting how many body shots an enemy can absorb before death is nearly impossible.

I can't say enough good things about this game. But it's feeling like I'm part of it that I like best. I really needed a drink by the time I got to The Golden Lion. What a relief that was. Expand

The thing I like about this game that was better than Agent Under Fire or Halo was the historic touch. I love a game where you can redo things that really happened in the past, such as the Normandy Invasion. Also, i love the huge weapon selection, there is nearly two guns for every type (american and german). My fave is the gwehr sniper rifle, i luv picking off my friends in the multiplayer. Expand

The graphics, controls, and music for Medal of Honor: Frontline are pretty good and I also like the list of weapons that is in the game. I do like that the campaign starts with the D-Day Invasion. Expand

The game starts out great with d day and everything, but then it turns into BS when you take on the whole freakin german army by yourself, which is very unrealistic and never really happened in reality. the missions with other US or british soldiers in them make the game feel more real. i dont understand why the creators decided to take that element out of the game. the multiplayer is below average, this kind of crappy multiplayer death match died out with Nintendo 64. and another thing, some of the missions just seem to repeat over and over again. capture this, infiltrate that- and it becomes quite boring. anyway, good game, but a little unrealistic and repetative. 5 points for graphics, musical score, d day, and a few other strong points.
