85The channels may not be exciting, but in a childs eyes, they will be quite entrancing.
-
75Older Pokémon fans will become bored right away, but younger ones will have a blast.
-
Hours of fun for Pokemon fans. [Feb 2004, p.150]
-
All in all, it may only be one for the fanatics but there is a lot of fun to be had with Channel. Some of the better parts had us in stitches and while the game itself may be fairly linear and restricted, it makes up for it in terms of sheer amusement. [JPN Import]
-
It's fairly short, the graphics aren't too flashy, but it has an irresistible charm. And it comes with a full length cartoon. You'll keep coming back to see what the next bizarre channel will be.
-
70Sure, there should've been more channels and things to interact with, but the pet Pikachu, Pichu Bros. episode, Pokemon minis and the near infinite amount of pictures to color make this a mandatory purchase.
-
You became a slave to theTV and a slave to Pikachu. Pokemon fans will be glued to their seats. Everyone else will be turned of, pun intended. [Jan 2004, p.141]
-
60Parents will probably have to play this one along with their toddlers. When they do, they'll find a fun but flawed kid's program.
-
It's not really so much a game as just a bunch of things to do which can be refreshing in some cases. If you're thinking you may be too old for this game, you probably are.
-
60A nice distraction with lengthy play value for dedicated fans of the series as long as they can deal with the slow pace and limited interactivity. However, anyone looking for a good virtual pet simulator should look elsewhere.
-
59A game that already has a limited target audience and it is further restricted by its one-dimensional gameplay.
-
Decent as a virtual pet game, but anyone over the age of seven will get bored fast so matter how much they enjoy Pokemon.
-
54While there are some interesting elements to the game, it's ultimately undone by poor execution that ends up bringing down the whole experience. So, if you ever thought it would be cool to hang out with Pikachu, think again.
-
50It's fun for very young kids who may love the pokemon characters but be unable to cope with the complex rpg mechanics of the GBA titles.
-
50Makes watching TV boring. I can hardly find enough compelling gameplay to call this a game. It's far too passive an experience to keep my interest for more than a few minutes.
-
A well-executed... thing that's somehow being mis-sold as a video game. Either somebody at Nintendo is a certifiable maniac, or this is the future of video games. We're pretty sure it's the former.
-
40As limiting as it may be, the recreation of a Pokemon universe is a delightfully escapist one, but after the first week or so it'll take some serious staying power to keep coming back to your yellow friend. [Mar 2004, p.106]
-
Do not buy this for yourself or your kids or anyone you know - you do not ever want to be in a room where it's being played. [Feb 2004, p.127]
-
30There's only so long you can stand to watch Pikachu frolicking aimlessly on an empty beach. This may be a good game for very young children who are still interested in Pokémon, but God bless the parent who has the patience to play through it with them.
-
30This isn't really a fun toy, either, but more like one of those Fisher-Price "busy boxes" for young kids: Hit a button and it makes a noise; turn this knob and listen to the Pikachu say its name, etc.
-
20A hollow, stripped-down experience.

RyanM.7Very unique, but face it. Pokemon needs to stop riding a dead horse. This game is interesting, but probably just too weird for people.
-
StacyC.7It was sort of cute but it was kinda boring.
