Fans of the show should definitely pick this one up for your favorite system, not because it's another piece of memorabilia, but because it's a nice, controllable manifestation of a show you love.
  2. Its somewhat sluggish controls, repetitive missions, and the near total absence of a sense of speed keep the game from mimicking the show's exciting combat sequences.
  3. The best fighter-combat title since "Rogue Leader." [Dec 2002, p.128]
  4. 70
This brilliant re-creation of the Robotech universe is a dream come true for fans of the animated series -- but it won't appeal to many others.
  5. 70
Those not so enamored by the 'toon may not get past the game's repetitive missions, chintzy AI, and sluggish maneuverability.
  6. The overall result is a Robotech fan's dream come true (the amount of "Paint Designs" and extras to unlock, like cast interviews, is staggering) but also a unique mission-based mech game that (finally) breathes some fresh air into an otherwise stale category. [Oct 2002, p.70]
  7. The story line and cel-shaded graphics are true to the Robotech animated series. [Dec 2002, p.216]
  8. The idea of using the Veritech through a number of objective-based missions plays off very well in Robotech: Battlecry.
  9. 86
If you like the cel shading technique, prepare to be literally blown away...TDK does a splendid job with the color schemes, and most of the little effects compliment the main graphics perfectly.
  10. Even my friends, those who hate anime with a burning passion have found love in this cel-shaded action game. Definitely the best mech game in existence.
  11. Some might find the control a tad complicated and some missions overly difficult, but the action is very solid, overall.
