  1. Its somewhat sluggish controls, repetitive missions, and the near total absence of a sense of speed keep the game from mimicking the show's exciting combat sequences.

This brilliant re-creation of the Robotech universe is a dream come true for fans of the animated series -- but it won't appeal to many others.
  3. 70
Those not so enamored by the 'toon may not get past the game's repetitive missions, chintzy AI, and sluggish maneuverability.

The overall result is a Robotech fan's dream come true (the amount of "Paint Designs" and extras to unlock, like cast interviews, is staggering) but also a unique mission-based mech game that (finally) breathes some fresh air into an otherwise stale category. [Oct 2002, p.70]
  5. Nintendo Power

The story line and cel-shaded graphics are true to the Robotech animated series. [Dec 2002, p.216]

I have to say it. I felt a little disappointed. The game is not bad, but I expected something better. The cinematics are just picturesI have to say it. I felt a little disappointed. The game is not bad, but I expected something better. The cinematics are just pictures (remember that this game is based on a anime), the graphics could be better, the voices sound a little unprofessional. And where is Rick Hunter???. In the other hand we have a nice design of mechas, a lot of missions, nice gameplay and a good replay value. Nice game but incomplete. Full Review »
