  1. 40
It quickly degenerates into as absurd a mess as four turtles that are supposed to be ninjas with a rat for a sensei sounds like on paper. As Michelangelo might say, "cowabunga dudes, this is one gnarly game wreck."
  2. It's the general gameplay that's busted. Picking up an object is needlessly complex, tricky jumps seem to require more luck than skill, the camera is craptacular, boss battles are tedious, the vehicle-based levels are a joke, and the actual fighting action is bland. [Dec 2004, p.150]
  3. 40
For most gamers the only enjoyment you'll get out of the game will be mocking it with your friends.
  4. A device for mental torture. And even the most diehard fans of the series would have to be truly blinkered to believe that this game was worthy of the licence. Put simply, it's nothing but a travesty.
  5. Game play, while trying to recapture the essence of the old school arcade game, is excruciating, dull, and repetitive.
  6. From extremely cheap computer AI, lack of combo attacks, and boring same old, same old gameplay, in a way I have to say this title is just too old school.
  7. Outside of a tolerable multiplayer, there's nothing to redeem this. Battle Nexus had potential and it will stir the interest of old and new Turtles fans but sadly, it satisfies neither the misplaced nostalgia nor the itch for a cel-shaded violence.
