If nothing else, this game certainly captures the dumb, single-minded spirit of the films. I'm not a fan of the series, but I did have fun with Redemption, despite its total lack of depth. For a while, that is.
The Redemption is not great. It is not good. But it is sure as shoes better than Ataris first attempt at doing the license justice, Rise of the Machines, a terrible first-person shooter with more in common with "Fugitive Hunter" than "Halo."
With a fast and frantic single player with all the trimmings, plus the voice and image of Arnie, I can't complain one bit. And when you've completed the game with a high score there's some decent cheats to unlock that enrich it even more.
A great shoot em up game that allows you to destroy almost everything in your environment and lets you take your frustrations out on hordes of other 101s. Guns, plasma rifles, tanks, helicopters: you name it, you use it.
The main game though remains a solid arcade experience and for T-800 fanatics this really is the closest you're likely to come at the moment of actually experiencing the excitement of being in a Terminator Movie.
