  1. For an espionage title, the movement and sniping control is surprisingly sluggish. [Feb 2003, p.154]
  2. The sounds, graphics, and controls are all painfully ported from the PC, and all of them are worse for wear. [Apr 2003, p.89]
  3. It feels like you're not fully in control. [Dec 2002, p.236]
  4. A dull, uninspriring pile of nonsense. Poor graphics, awful sound and a severe lack of gameplay make this a game that is best left on the shelves.

By far, The Sum of All Fears for the GameCube is the most disappointing, if not one of the worst, first-person shooters on any system.
  6. Meant as a game to ease beginners into this type of stealth genre. The way it does that ends up being condescending for experienced gamers, and for beginners will be annoying due to AI glitches.
  7. This game borders on blasphemy... What you get is a slow paced game of hide and seek where it seems no one even cares to come looking for you.
  8. Terrible. This first-person shooter from Red Storm Entertainment suffers from graphical problems, poor control, and terrible AI, and on top of all that, it can be beaten in less than two hours your first time through.
  9. 25
    Betrayed and disappointed.
  10. 20
The sloppiness of the gameplay is matched by the bland, glitchy graphics. Environments are simplistically rendered, with muddy colors and blurry textures.
  11. 18
Shockingly inept... It is, quite literally, the poorest excuse for a video game I've ever had the "honor" of completing.

I rented this game to see how good it was and I've played it for a while and I've gotten the hang of how to play the game and rescue hostages. It is fun for me because you get to go on dangerous missions and kill your people and the terrorists so it is a very interesting game. I would recommend this game to people ages 10-20 because of violence and guns. I will maybe end up buying this game if it is easy to beat. If I don't, then I would just rent it again so that I would be able to beat the game. I got involved with this catagory when I heard about Operation Iraqi Freedom and wanted to see what the soldiers over seas would probably see over there. This game is kind of like James Bond. When I first played James Bond GoldenEye, I was very scared because I was afraid of the terrorists but now that I am more mature, I can handle that type of game. Full Review »
